Job Description:
The purpose of the Base Director is to maximize GFM’s impact regionally through strong spiritual leadership, strategic planning, sound business management, financial oversight, and human resource development. This ministry and business role can be full-time and support-raising is required. The Base Director has the ability to work on-site and from home on a regular basis. The role is based out of .
Required Qualifications
- Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values and statement of faith and identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- BA/BS or higher degree in a related field is highly recommended
- Demonstrated ability to provide significant spiritual leadership to interdenominational, missions-minded individuals and churches
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, monthly reporting, and summarize outcomes
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with program and staff supervision
- Experience in project and budget management, human resources, and/or accounting
- Experience establishing and developing community, donor, and employee relationships
- Must be ready to experience significant missions training and leadership development through GFM’s Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
- Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others
- Must display advanced interpersonal and communication skills (Gmail, Slack, etc.)
- Must function well both independently and in a team environment
Key Responsibilities
- Give spiritual direction for their location and ensure GFM staff stays Christ-centered
- Be the public face of the organization locally and represent GFM well through speaking engagements, conferences, and occasional networking and interfacing with donors
- Maintain and build relationships with local and regional churches, ministries, and partnership agencies
- Oversee all local GFM services, activities, finances, and community relationships including program cost spending, budgets, and outcomes. Ensure assets like land, vehicles, buildings, maintenance, taxes, insurance, and paperwork are completed and submitted when needed.
- Come alongside department leaders coaching, developing, and helping them reach their goals and replace themselves
- Oversee base finances and review monthly reports checking income and expenses
- Develop and implement, or align programs and initiatives with GFM’s strategic direction ensuring that the DNA and core values are being embodied at their location
- Participate as a part of the Global Leadership Team (GLT) in four meetings each year giving organizational leadership and staying accountable to rest of the GFM body
- Support the hiring, supervising, training, evaluation, and firing of local staff and volunteers
- Come alongside and develop different department leaders to help them reach their goals
